If your VQ bike does not weigh at least 28 lbs please see me at the start, I'll give you quarter for the tampon dispenser ;)

Have you swapped out your tires for some "wimpy ones" or are you going for unreasonable weight? ;)

just got done setting this bad boy to ride 100% tubeless, and just hooked up the Hope Mono Mini's. OTB_again is gonna look awefully foolish when the Huffy stomps his Jamis Hardtail.

Colors? Well I was beta-testing the Niner fork on my red One 9 and figured a light Air 9 would work for the VQ.

davidB, just be careful with those Racing Ralphs on the Motorway. One trip down on my RR was enough to tear the sidewalls.

I loved the way that tire rolled & hooked up in the rear, but can't trust something with that thin of a sidewall.

I thought I was on the heavier side. Just re-weighed and it comes in at 28.4lbs. With the less weight than expected I can now afford to carry one extra Cliff Blox. Damn those Nevegals 2.35 UST were heavy. Glad I trained on them.

It's code for those of us that throw ridiculous amounts of money at parts that may or may not survive one 5-8 hour ride that we intentionally make as difficult as possible.

The complex cc/vq equation is (cubic centigrams)/(velocity quotient)* = x, where every component that is added to the bike should theoretically detract from the overall mass of the bike (cc), and thus weighed against increase in average velocity quotient (vq), giving x. There's a lot of "fuzzy math" involved, along with slanderous bluster and extensive "bling envy". The * is for the uncertainty factor, used for the times when certain equations don't deliver the desired results. This is also known as the ipa factor, as in beers to soothe the pain of these fruitless excursions.

Then again, you might just want to believe gene's answer instead. I'm going back to working on my bike - i'll shoot some glamour shots once she's all gussied up...

you guys are insane. your bikes are works of art, but you are insane.

    i respect that.

if you had a ride where you were required to drink a beer or two every 2-3 miles, i would be SOOOO down.

    that'd be cool.
