Secret Trail . . . You show me Yours, and I'll show you Mine

The problem with "Secret Trails" is, if you share them with others, then they are no longer.... well, "secret".

In my forever endeavor, and attempt to prove that the Greater Frazier Park Area is more than a "One Hit Wonder", meaning the McGill Trail, which has sadly, slowly but surely, been over run by the DH scene, I have gone out on many-a-rides seeking the holy grail of "Secret Trails". There have been known to be "Secret Trails" in the Frazier Park Area, and it's only the long time locals that have been privy to them.

Last year, I met Janice Rubin on the 2012 Kokopelli ride out in Colorado. The astounding coincidence is, that Janice has lived in Frazier Park for just over 30 years, and still does!!!! She became a Mountain Biker back in 1996 and has contended in the Leadville 100 a couple of times, so she is no slouch.

I connived her into taking me out for a spin and asked her to show me a secret trail. And . . . . she did...



Rule #1. Getting to Secret Trails is not always a good time. . . This is waaaaaaayyyyy steeper than the pic suggests, as well as loose rocky shale.



Remember in Gremlins how they had such cute smiles? What Janice is REALLY saying here is, "If you show somebody, I will kill you in your sleep..."



She didn't scare me, I don't know how this picture got in here . . . .

I just extracted the metadata off the images and broke into the encrypted GPS coordinates embedded in the pics which I then plugged into my high zoot mapping software that downloaded the street view from google which showed an actual image of the trail head! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Ima gonna poach your secret trail right here!

Now that the bears have your scent.....Janice will let them track you down if you spill the beenz. I drive by there every weekend, just a matter of time for me to find the "trail". Oh and Game on, I will have to post pictures of some of my secret trails.
