Screenames: what do they mean?

I've been reading back on some of the posts. It's really cool to see some of the explanations. What kinda sucks though is how many names I haven't seen in a while. I understand many have just tightened up their group and moved to Facebook. It's a shame because many who have left STR for FB are some of the most interesting characters you'll ever meet and have some of the best RR's.
What I don't understand though is how many names I don't recognize but they have twice as many "thanks" or more than me. How does that happen? Not the "thanks" part, I get that but how can they be so active on STR and I don't recognize their name?

I actually met most STR peeps on FB. Then I got tired of it and came back to STR ... I mean, who cares what you ate for breakfast, show me bikes and trails!!

My SN is stupid bc I HATE being called Roxy...doh!!

Many of the "OG's" have been put off by the newer STR member demographic as not being 'core' enough for them.

That's not entirely wrong. I know many stopped posting rides on STR and are opting to ride with a closer niche group. No matter how much they explain the ride and emphasize that a ride is not a newbie friendly, the Fred on the Walmart special always shows up and is in way over his head.
I don't know if it's just a generation gap or something but I know many of the OG's also feel the tone of this site has changed for the worse. IMO I think for the most part even with the new members and only having one moderator this sight has done a good job of self moderating itself.

I actually like how STR is now. It's not as clicky as it was before.

"FROADER" is short for Off-Roader. I have been into wheeling trucks, bikes, etc. since I was little. It was a family affair. I started to call it froadin' and it stuck.

Thread revival.

From Velominati's Lexicon:

Sur La Plaque // French for “Put that thing in the big ring, ****tard.”

(Literally, to move sur la plaque means to move onto the plate, or the BIG RING.)

When I started on this forum, I only had the BMX, so I was always in the big ring.
