Screenames: what do they mean?

Mine was a play on the now defunct Chumba bike. It started out as Chumbacabra. Changed is to chupacabra once I was riding a different bike.

I've been reading back on some of the posts. It's really cool to see some of the explanations. What kinda sucks though is how many names I haven't seen in a while. I understand many have just tightened up their group and moved to Facebook. It's a shame because many who have left STR for FB are some of the most interesting characters you'll ever meet and have some of the best RR's.
What I don't understand though is how many names I don't recognize but they have twice as many "thanks" or more than me. How does that happen? Not the "thanks" part, I get that but how can they be so active on STR and I don't recognize their name?

There are several who changed their SN, but even in the older posts, it'll will be posted with their current SN. Also, the "thanks" may not be that their so active, but the quality of the posts earned them the "thanks"(RR's, info, advice on training, bike maint..., etc)

I had an interest in coding, math, and physics, and was playing with simulations that were beyond simple 3D vectors, vector rotation, 3d matrices, acceleration, etc. Basically, I took a simple part of the code, var axis, and made it into a screen name.

That stuff is behind me, but I didn't really feel any need to change my online alias, so I just kept it and used it for non-personal things like hobbies. I like that it's fairly unique, and I don't have to worry much about finding that the username was already taken, when I go to register for something new.

I probably already explained mine last time around, but I'm too lazy to check.

Herzalot = Pronounced "Hurts a lot" The first part is from my last name, but put together it refers to the pain of climbing, or the occasional pain of falling. I am now adding in the emotional if-not-yet physical pain of aging :-(
