Ok... home from grabbing dinner with Brewmaster,

    My account.
So, rough work week, 2 mtb rides this week, and a sprint/interval session wednesday, my legs were sore. I woke up at 0600 asking myself, how far do i plan on riding today?

Dan (sperminator) shows up at 7 at my house, and we roll down the hill around 7:15, where we catch davidb getting off the freeway. We catch Sol (SDStumpy) and Dizle, DavidB at the green river parking lot. 7:30 ish, we roll. We are supposed to meet up with Jay and his posse at the big A at 8. FAT CHANCE of getting ~15 miles in 30 minutes LOL.

We start off with a nice 20ish warm up pace, get to yorba reg'l park, do a time check and Sol and I suggest "lets kick it up a notch".

Dizle is a tow truck. We were at 24....25....26 in no time. We took some good turns pulling, and managed to drop dan and dave short of the Big A. We were aound 15 minutes late, so we figured they waited 10 and said screw it. Pounded out more chasing speeds and ended up finding the group at HB state beach....

POOF! Dave's tire explodes while we are BSing.

Cruise on down towards seal beach. 3 pretty strong dudes past us (the ONLY 3 all day that out ran us... were pulling 30's down PCH)!!! enough of that lol. a few latched on and rode through sunset beach at mach 30 LOL.

I saw an old porsche that i recognized from my autocross days, and ran down a buddy in sunset.... chatted, and booked to catch the group in seal beach....

    BRUNCH:
Jesus Christos! what takes an hour to get food, after 25 minutes of waiting to be seated lol. The rivers end cafe! decent food... no tip LOL. Sucky service.

    Moving on...
Only Dizle, Dan and I chose to continue to add 5miles each way to make it a century. DavidB pooned out :) We ended up adding like 8 each way, and bagged the queen mary and the BEST PORTA POTTIES EVER! they even had "Exhaust Fans" to keep air flowing in there LOL.

the three of us averaged around 21 the whole way back, and made great time.

Puking gatorade on my helmet in belmont shore, from laughing so hard at something was a great touch... thanks LOL

All in All. Killer time! I told myself, 3 is enough for 3 weeks.... we'll see pain freak. I have a bachelor party in two weeks, so the best i can do is 4 for 4....

    Enjoy!

oh yeah... got friendly with a dumbass on PCH who pulled out in front of me.... Managed to just deflect off his hood with my palm and Quad, stayed upright and rode away.

Dan and Dizle gave him a good open hand wack to the qtr panel to reinforce "look before you leap"

Question for the people who regularly do these long rides. Does peanut butter for breakfast ever upset your stomach on the rides? the only thing i changed for this ride was peanut butter on my toast for breakfast i previously topped it with yogurt and had no problems.

I Just realized i also had a G2 Gatorade which uses artificial sweeteners which i cant have for medical reasons ie: it gives me the poops which i got on the ride.

I couldn't bail because chewy had places to be and my family was out of town for the day.

I did the ride today with my old crew. Did a hell of a lot better then two weeks ago. We managed a 20 mph average down and a 19.3 on the way back due to me fading for the last five miles. We did get 50 in though so my fitness is starting to come back. I've just got to find a way to get some more saddle time in.

Ricky, take it easy on Aaron we all know he's a mtb'er first!

    I'm not disappointend.

Peanut butter is food from the gods. Keeps me fuled for a long time but I have problems digesting any whole food on longer rides.

I had fun on the ride except my knee has been killing me all day. It never hurt during the ride or even after i got home.

    If I finished back at Green River I would have been a couple miles shy of 100. Green River - PCH - Newport Coast - R Shady Canyon/Sand Canyon - L Portola - R Jamboree - L Santiago Cyn - R Cannon/Imperial Hwy - Back onto SART.

Doing SART to Back Bay/Mountains to Sea Trail would be at least 10 mi short of a century.
