I was thinking maybe we could caravan over to the irvine river trail and ride this trail instead of the SART from corona to new port. I just really want to ride this weekend so we can change up the route I just wanted to start something early to give everyone a chance to see if they want/can ride this weekend.if you have a better route lets hear it.

All i know is the trail passes by UCI and their farmers market( i used to work there last year). we could do a different ride untill more info surfaces on this route. Ill try to contact the irvine city bike club for a map or something like that.

If it a reasonably easy route I would be interested but I know right now I am limited as far as pace and distance.

Much too flat, even with Galaxy park...

Coolest ride is gonna be in Sycamore, PCH is also right there for road action...

If staying local I'd park at Irvine and Newport, Tustin ranch to Jamboree, Canyon view, rt on Cannon L on Via Escola to Summit ridge, Cerro Villa and Center just about that fast. Cut up the road to Hewes/ R santiago to return to Crawford Canyon (extra credit to climb Barret and take the off camber sweeper to Marcy) Climb Skyline past the fire station and drop it (take the hard left instead of Foothill) all the way back to Redhill. One of my Favorite two hour blacktop quickies....

No idea I have done two rides so far. I have done 20 and 26 miles both averaging around 16 mph including the ride on the streets trying to get to San gab river trail and decent onshore wind. Both were limited due to some foot pain(have new shoes and getting pedals this week) and hand pain (looking at getting good gloves this week too). My legs felt fine I wasn't really tired (would get tired when I was fighting afternoon onshore winds though). So with that said I dont know. Plus that is pretty much flat so if its hilly that will change things too.

Mark, how far up the SGRT have you ridden?

I rode over to the trail from my house (basicly the 22 freeway) up to the 91 down to the end and back to my house taking side streets and that was 26 miles. Could I have gone father had my hands and feet not hurt yeah, but I didnt want to push it TOO hard on first rides.
