schweeet wheels mang!!!8)
I am totally digging those things... thinking about a set of I9s myself as
they have a 150mm rear hub and ChrisKing don't.
I've read nothing but great stuff 'bout dem wheelz 8) 8)
what's the current wait/build time for a set of those???
does anybody know? Foshizzle? TURNERob?
WAY quicker turn around than most wheelsets/hubs. Especially if you want custom colors......for example, you want mango, green Kings?....you will likely hear the "6-8 weeks more" line for months on end. And Hadley colored hubs, fuhgetaboudit! they are a bunch of hippies who never tell the truth....great product, but many top shops wont even sell colored hadleys cause of their awful reputation in either lying or misleading about wait times (on occassion of course, you may get VERY lucky...or some shops may have em in stock otherwise, no way).
it is true.....VERY quick turnaround (~weekish) so long as you stick with stock stuff (red, black, silver I believe). They currently build all the wheelsets so you are not at the mercy of a backlogged wheelbuilder ON TOP of having to wait for you parts from a company. They will offer hub/spoke packages at some point, just not now.
To put it another way, my silly wheelset had everything negative going for it......custom colored spokes, custom colored hubs, Maverick front hubs, 29er rims that are almost impossible to currently get. Not only did I9 make sure they got a hold of at least a few of the 29er rims I wanted (for me and a few other customers while the average shop could no way get any at this time), they worked quickly with Maverick to get the axle approved/blessed by them (necessary step of course)......and it still only took about a month I would say. Again, the things out of their control (rims/Maverick blessing) were the things that held it up.
If you are like me, you will LOVE their customer service. In my humble opinion, there are a few companies out there that are in a complete league of their own when it comes to communication/customer service. In my opinion those companies are Ventana, Ninerbikes, Turner, Maverick, White Brothers, On-One, and Industry Nine. Though more coin, the customer service is just so huge for me......give em a call and see for yourself....

The I9 guys told me that as long as it's a stock color and rim, they usually keep them in stock so it's just shipping time from North Carolina. They offer a lot of custom options with different colors, fades on the spokes, powder coated rims, the sky is the limit. They had a bad-ass set of Enduros on display. Blue hubs, blue fade to silver spokes laced to white powder coated 5.1's. Perfect for my Spot.
yeah, i am so pissed i did not get the fade to black version of the spokes......but i figured a retail of over $1200 was then getting silly even for the Fo'
