Being that it was my first attempt to ride down, I wanted to map out my route so it was doable in a specific time frame, and I could stop 300 times for pictures...shopping....zen? I haven't smiled this much on a bike probably ever in my life (well....maybe when we ride the tandem)....it was...in the middle of all of the fire tragedy....a truly epic day.

I uploaded photos to my host site.

Any problem putting your bikes on the train? How many will they carry? I heard there are just a few bikes they will carry per train. Sounds like a good day!

Well the car we boarded had three hooks by the door (one of many doors)....but I hear there are other spots. We leaned one bike against the ones hanging. The conductor said there are other locations as well. :) It was a good day indeed.

Great idea for a ride. Thanks for sharing. That is my favorite stretch of southern CA coastline.

No...but the roadways are pretty clearly marked "bike path" and you can google it too I think? I can do our trip and PM it to you if you want?

If you can do a general direction that'd be awesome....thinking about adding a few miles to it by starting from Irvine or fullerton.

    Thanks!

Wow. That looks really fun. A portion of the route you did is part of the MS150 ride from Irvine to Mission bay San Diego. How did you like the quick decent in Camp Pendleton right before you reached the major road to exit into Oceanside?
