Downhill Sam hill leaves specialized, joins team crc/nukeproof!

How could you not see it coming? Specialized is doing its best to get out of the game. Have you noticed that there are practically no longer any shops in Orange County that carry Specialized DH bikes, after Specialized pulled out of the good shops that did?

 

Now that Sam hill is with CRC, I wonder if Spesh will try to pick someone else up, or Where troy brosnan and Mitch ropelato are going to do about a team...

Also I think CRC just got a very good wild card in thier hand this season. Very Interesting to see what happens!

Odd, I blieve he signed a 3 year contract with Trek Last season before the World cup? That would be a hell of a play on spech though, but I assume they would have to pry gwinny out of treks cold dead grasp. No way you would let that guy go easy.

Contracts mean nothing these days, they are often bought out in professional sports. I dont think gwin will leave though, why fix it if it aint broke?

 

I read Sam will stay with Sram/Boxxer. I wonder if the rest of the team will run Sram too?

Can the world cup season come sooner please???

 

Re-signing Kulhavy, who was mulling a move to a road team, to a two-year deal probably ate up most of the DH budget. . . .

If they wanna buy out his contract and offer him some nice upside in the process he'd be stupid not to consider it.. loyalty between teams and players is non existent these days and quite frankly shouldn't matter, players ditch teams and teams ditch players, end of the day it's all about getting paid.. and if Spesh wants to pay more, he'll have to consider it.. it's smart business for him..

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Specialized or one of the bigger teams picked up steve smith. He had a good year and is with a relatively small company, they picked up the coastal crew recently so it could be interesting to see how the deck is shuffled in the off season.

I think this is a funny dialogue. All these pro DH guys can ride anything. It's kind of like asking, can u play smoke on the water on a les Paul? Well..... Yes you can, but it could be a matter of personal taste......and the highest bidder. I don't think any of the brands (I.e) bike companies are so much ahead of the other ones it would actually make a difference? Are they?????? By that reasoning, every product Aaron Gwinn rides is THE BEST product in the world.

GT bikes became amazing bikes once the Athertons signed on.

I'm not too sure what kind of technology they have but they have the Athertons so they must be awesome bikes.

I have NukeProof parts on my bike before Sam Hill signed with them...

 

IMO Innovate or die has been dead for some time now. Aaron would never ride for Spesh simply because he is not a fan of their products. Sam switching to another team was a good move on his part.

 

I'm sure it's all gonna make a huge difference on the Fullerton loop.
