Who: Slow to Moderate pace
What: Bring your Single Speed
Why: Because we can
When: Saturday, September 23rd @ 8:30Am
Where: Brentwood, CA. Santa Monica Mountains

Park near the corner of Capri and Amalfi, just off Sunset Boulevard. Be respectfull parking is in a residential area.

Ride is 21 miles, with 2252 feet of climbing. Fireroad, singletract with some pavement. Route is up Sullivan Ridge Fireroad, across Dirt Mulholand to the hub then down Backbone to Will Rodgers State Park. I have rode this area a number of times, but I have never riden this Loop as discribed above. So I can not answer many questions about the ride it's self. I am going to try it on my Singlespeed. Hopefully someone like "Fo" can join us and show us the extra credit stuff.

You will need Google Earth installed on your computer to view the parking file. E-mail me if you want high res. map file.

I've done this one a few times too, and I really like it. Scott's backyard, but there's a lot of locals who will probably jump in.

will try. however, i have another daughter's birthday party (from my third marriage) later that day so less than 50%.

It's been a while since I've done this, though, I remember it being drama free. I know a little drop down Josepho near the end of the ride that's bone digity. We can then make our way out of Sullivan canyon up to Bayliss which will leave us either a road race down to Mellard canyon or take the horse trail much to the shagrin of the locals, either way they dump out back onto Sunset and it's just a short jaunt back up to the vehicles. Anyone for lunch at Marix's after? :D

Oh, wildcat... Eagle Rock ain't near this ride. But, how do you know Eagle Rock?

ApexMan is talking about J-Drop. that is a really fun way to bypass all the Traffic on Sunset.

have fun out there guys!

I don't believe J-drop is legal. Last time I rode there a ranger was right at the bottom of it. But he was trying to ticket people for having their dogs off leash. That was funny as the guy took off running with his dog and left his wife there who said she didn't know who the guy was..

I screwed up again. I've already got a ride for Saturday that I've been inked on for a month. SHIAT! And Sunday we are riding up GMR.5700" in the middle ring....Gawd, my knees hurt just thinking about it. I hope you all have a good time that is a good ride and I'm sorry to miss it.

what up folks?

Fo clued me in to this ride (don't hold it against me :?: )... this is local for me so I'm in. It's a good loop, and I heard the overgrown parts of the upper backbone just got trimmed back, which was really needed. Side trip to eagle isn't far at all. The only problem is there's lots of hikers on the will rogers section on the weekends.

see you all saturday, I'll be on a dos niner.
