Maybe because its a long way to drive to find a course you dont want to race.

I really wonder if one reason he wont say is because he is afraid to many people wont like the choice.:?:

screw donny, I'm racing the rocky line! it's a handicap, since it's a harder line anyway, right?

but yeah, not so epic, but it will make for a really good race. it's fast enough that contending riders should be pretty close time-wise, but tricky enough that people can't just blast down everything. it takes finesse to go fast on that track.

Finally got a response from Donny, supposedly Mammoth Mountain is supposed to post the courses on their web site.

AASN, I was checking the forums this afternoon and found this post:

I think they r making a mistake by not posting the course to b used..... That's a long drive for an unknown course....I don't see what the big deal is... Northstar posts the courses in june for the whole series .....

Hi, Is anybody going to do any fishing while they are up there, Twin Lakes is really close to Canyon Lodge. The trout fishing is epic this year I caught most of my fish at lake George on what we call a Crowley rig which is a slide sinker above a snap swivel with a 3-4 foot Trilene leader and a treble hook and some floating power bait or a hypodermic blown up night crawler. This rig works best in the shallow grass don't cast it off into some deep ledge. If you want to get some of the cleanest protein into your body before the race show up a day or two early bring your pole, fishing license and gear. I love riding, hiking and fishing in Mammoth we are fortunate to live close enough to visit such a beautiful place I hope I can get back there soon.

    peace

If you want to ride that line so bad then move up to EXPERT and race that line!

I for one am happy there is a go around. I can't get my head around Hilary's drop - it plain old scares the Crap outta me (I rode everything up to it and just keep bailing out right at the last second) Maybe by race day i'll suck it up and go for it, but after two Nasty HARD crashes i've become pretty darn conservative (yes - i admit i'm a wimp) and was glad to see that I might not have to ride the drop on race day......

I'm resolving to get at least 1 1st place podium before I can justify moving up to expert. I have my reasons. I can ride right with a lot of the guys in expert, but I can't necessarily race with them. Race nerves are a B*tch (as you well know).

For the hilary drop, just go for it when you feel ready. it's easier than that last drop on the pavers before it IMO. just has a funky run-in

Isn't the Hilary drop the drop to wood tranny on Techno Rock? And you can roll that thing surly, you should try it up there. And yes go arounds are cool but i would prefer them as options! If some people don't feel up to the challenge they should opt to take the time hit and take the go arounds.. Wehn we have kids 11 years old racing the course in a sport class i understand the need for a sport/ beginnmer line. But in a place like Mammoth we should have 1 line and optional go arounds for those riders who aren't confident enough to hit the harder trail features.. Just my opinion.

And moving up to expert... I'm with ya Bryan, i want a 1st in sport before moving up to expert. It only seems fair. Or i'll settle with poium at each race in that class.. Which i'm on par for.. SO maybe next year winter series i'll be in 27-34 expert? :?:

ok i guess it is on Velocity, called the Hillary step?

I will say the change in the last step on the velocity woods section b4 the H drop makes all the difference. It now can be rolled with moderate speed.
I sure hope Bullet will be open wouldn't that be a trip if Donny turns around and makes bullet (or better Follow Me) the race run :) ???

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could link all these together? With the Bullet rock garden thrown in, of course!
