Mammoth Mountain to Host California Golden State Mountain Bike Championships

Mammoth Mountain, CA – After a multi-year absence from competitive mountain biking events, Mountain bike racing is returning to Mammoth Mountain this summer with the 2009 California Golden State Mountain Bike Championships taking place September 4-6, 2009.

This event will also play host to a special “Legends of Mountain Biking” race featuring mountain biking legends Mike “Too Tall” Bell, Stu Thompson, Tom Rogers, former World Downhill Champion Greg “H-Ball” Herbold, Jimmy Deaton, Miles Rockwell, Bernard Unhassobiscay, Dave Cullinan and many others.

In addition to the spectacular racing set to take place, spectators will enjoy a festival village and live music throughout the four-day event.

Just a side note, I spoke with Stu Thomsen and he won't be there, he doesn't know why they still listed his name in the press release, as he had told "one of the promoters" (his statement) that he couldn't make it, but he confirmed that he WON'T be able to make it that weekend.

Just in case anybody was hoping to see or meet him there, I just thought I'd pass it along

Thanks for the schedule, that answered the question for me. Im out.

3 hours of practice on Thur, nothing all day Friday and the 2.5 hours on Sat not really worth the drive and $ to stay in Mammoth for Wed-Sun.
