    Orienting Q's for trail riders.

    1) Can you tell me where we are?
    2) What is my name?
    3) How many fingers am I holding up
    4) This is the main Q "Do you remember what happened"?
    5) Which way is North? :)

Failure to answer Q4 tells ya that there is a high probability of a concussion. Failure on Q5 tells ya nothing. Failure on Q3 means the patient is bad at math. Failure on Q2 means you may have not been riding with the patient in the first place and he really doesnt know you. Failure on Q1 means you guys were probably lost.

There was a guy at the OC Classic Whiting Ranch race last weekend who had a crash at the top of Dreaded. He crashed hard enough to crack his helmet. I asked how he was at the finish line and told him to watch for symptoms. Like most guys, he was in denial that he could possibly have one. I hope he is ok.

It's scary stuff, because if he hit his head (minor crash) he could die. There are quite a few high school football deaths every year which is why they have new rules about concussions.

You know why we're here? You're gonna put the professional beard scratchers out of business.
