Interesting day for sure!

Never again will gabe lead a ride!

we did the 'climbers loop' as he called it

We went to hell and back, via a drainage ditch, an edison transformer station, up 'wooby-what-the-fark' hill, and then some. We climbed, and climbed with no downhill. It was uphill from the start, and back to the car :lol:Heart rate hit 190 on one of them hills

Nah - i had fun. Good crew, albeit there should've been a mutiny!

I am insanely full#-o from eating the record of taco's from ken. :bang:

Had fun. Great crew.

about 11 miles, 1500 ft of climbing. Walk in the park for these guys

I had a great ride what are you talking about? :?:
Gabe tried to kill you guys huh.;)
Fun times as always.

I think Gabe should guide all the rides...:-k

well.....some of them.....That was good.....

there was good good good ups......8-[

And Some Downs..."LIKE MARK....!!!!" :(

And The Slot Of Death..!!!!

That was fun...Cant wait till next week....Thanks for the Guide Gabe....:D

Tommy

Dude Chewy, you ate 7 tacos!!! That's the record, and damn impressive...

All complaining about the route aside, this really was kinda fun. Gabe took us out to places nearby to oaks that I never would have even known existed, and we had a great time doing it. Even mark (mfoga), who nearly died from all the climbing, probably had a good time. Probably.

about 11 miles, 1500 ft of climbing.

whoa - call it a premonition, call it luck, or just call me the f'n smartest man alive!!!!!

i clearly picked the right day to take a pass and ride alone -> http://www.socaltrailriders.org/for...skool-taco-tuesday-sans-tacos.html#post530305

no really wish i was there...sounds like fun ;)

chewy and 7 tacos??? you are the man...soon to be 2 men :p

btw is it me or can you see almost see Gabe's evil grin and mind turning in this pic below "got you now my pretty...you and your little dog too".

d@mn, peeps. and am i the only one to foresee a downward spiral here???

Each week Gabe taking us on more sick twists to the ride with the ultimate finale written up in the OC register outdoors section

Local mtb bikers drink the cool-aide err, Gabe-r-aide
20+ local mtn bikes found dead in what can only be described and some sort of paranormal cult like ritual gone very wrong

A county official who spoke anonymously said it was a horrific sight strewn with freekenbikes and the body of one individual who was clearly on a diet of mass quantities of tacos and perhaps poi.

He suggested one such victim before succumbing to the final journey kept muttering the phrase,"mudpie, mudpie".

At the time of this publication we cannot confirm the true meaning of this odd phrase but investigators at the scene believe it has something to do with the homoerotic manhole tendencies of the cult leader who was witnessed fleeing the site of the incident in tight lycra shorts and yelling "pull my finger, pull my finger"

Officials suggest if you come across the whackjob DO NOT follow him down (OR UP) any trails :p

was planning on joining back in next week, but i have to check as i now think i am busy, yeah, very busy :)

Definitely mixed it up, but what a blast.

Our new to the group rider PM'd me before the ride and I assured him it was an easy fire road/single track kind of ride, more talking than riding kind of thing. When the whole group wanted to try something new with a little climbing, I tried to give him the Gabe warning and he was game. While the rest of the guys would look at the "downhill" and say WTF, he just rode it. Nice job Tommy, see you next week.

Note the photo of Gabes explanation of the downhill, not only does he use 2 hands to explain, he warns if you go straight at the end, you will die.

gabefest

"slot of death" probably the best description of a place i don't evever want to see again and "don't forget to turn left or face imminent DEATH"

I've never heard so many obscenities on a ride and that was just from me...actually, the climbs weren't that bad but we never seemed to ride down...wtf :?:

I had to leave the tacofest a lil early or was it just to so i didn't have to witness the aftermath of the 7 taco feat of Chewy? "It's just a wafer thin mint?"

All in all, a fun ride as always!

This is another new guy, who was a friend of Gabes, he showed up with body armor. HMMM

the aftermath isnt pretty from the 7 taco's....I think all the fish parts reconsituted inside me and turned into a freakin tuna swimming around.

bluefirepictures andy is going for 8 next week.

I was looking for that nice easy relaxing ride after work, definitely a very interesting and challenging ride, with Dusty and I as the only females it was very entertaining to hear exactly what the men felt about this ride. Everything aside it was a beautiful evening and fun was glad that I made it. Hope to be there next week.

This ride should be been called the WTF ride as thats what it was and those were said numerous times.

It included climbing, more climbing, "epic downhill", hiking, trail blazing, human chains to get bikes and people up hills, death via spikes if you miss turn.

I will never go on another Gabe led ride unless Lety is there to keep him somewhat in control.

Epic Downhill or not you decide.

Sounds like a good route, anyone record this and upload GeoLadders ?

I wouldn't give this route to anyone, even my biggest enemy, it could be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Note the photo of Gabes explanation of the downhill, not only does he use 2 hands to explain, he warns if you go straight at the end, you will die.

Or he is (more likely) describing some kind of porn or an "un-natural act" he witnessed/participated in while working at a certain LBS :p :D :p :D

I dont know about that...
Ill have to see how Im feeling next week.

If someone were to buy them for me there is a greater chance Ill eat them. I cant pass up free food.

Fun ride. Everyone knows that whatever goes up must come down. But some how we just kept going up, and never came down.

Something like this.

Hey if rode it backwards would we never go up? All downhill??

Somehow I think not.
