Thanks Nancy! I was pretty happy with the results but I still want to get faster! I'm still pleased though, considering how my first XC race at Fontana went in 2008: http://www.southridgeusa.com/results_xc_2_09_08.php

The OTH race was a great time though and I will be back! The swag was great too -- a pint glass, beanie, bottle, and lots of baby Clif bars. The dirty boogers were fun too. And I'm not sure if AJ (one of the other women in my class) is on STR, but if you are it was nice meeting you! You were all nervous and you killed it! Hope to see you again.

Thanks chanson and royster (and others) for the pics. And all the people cheering -- that really helps! See ya next week! I'm #400. Easy to remember.

I was number plate 140 in the Sport 2 class, finished 29th out of 54, 57:16.9. I raced the beginner class last year and stepped up to Sport since I have been riding a lot more. So I got quite a bit faster from last year, dropped a couple of minutes off my lap times...but everyone else seems to have gotten faster too ;). Looking to crack the top half next week :bang:.

Some random thoughts from the race. Starting line: Bang, everyone is out of the gate. Holy smokes, these people are fast. Try to keep up, wait I will die at this pace, ride your own race. Second lap: It is a lot of fun to pass people on the downhill sections, even if I get passed again when things point back up. Third lap: I think I might have had my fastest lap time, most of it was kind of a magical moment were there was nobody around me. Finally felt like I found a groove. Finish: The top Pro and Expert guys were finishing their 4th lap about the same time I was finishing my 3rd lap, it was fun to attempt to sprint into the finish with them.

I had a great time at the event and look forward to a fun summer of racing ahead. Thanks to all the people that stopped by our booth, Silversage Advisors. We are proud to sponsor at this terrific event . It is awesome to see all the riders and their family and friends come out for this grassroots OC race.

    See everyone next week!

That was you! Maybe... If I have the name right I think we chatted at Old Camp on Saturday before you graciously let me start the downhill ahead of you; whereupon you then went flying by me about 5 minutes later. I remember thinking at the time that I was glad I didn't ever have to race against you. How ironic given that I finished this race about 10 seconds away from you and so would guess we actually did pass each other a couple times. Congrats on finishing this one!
