The old Kikapu, now retired. Managed to do the '08 Traverse inferno on her. The fun that was the rigid SS 29er Unit 2-9. Miss this bike more than any other. Did the '09 CC on her. She got whored out to RodgerDoger; he's now whoring her out to a new home. She gets around! And the only Kona currently in my quiver. I love riding this bike among the thousands of other cookie-cutter, look-alike road bikes.
Shoulda kept Kona purple nurple Unit. I couldn't bring myself to sell mine and I am still riding it. Though it's got a 2x9 drive train now so technically it's a Kona Unit(s)
I was smart enough to keep the SS rear wheel. One day soon my 1x10 El Mariachi will be converted to a SS rigid...just for old time's sake. For the time being, I'm rather enjoying having gears for the first time in years. Climbing while seated--what a concept.
2012 King Kahuna Last photos before I convert to XX1 in a couple of weeks. Sitting at 21 pounds even, so I should be just a hair under 20 pounds with XX1 and a switch to Formula R1 brakes.
sick build and ride. I was about to comment about maybe switching to the candy 3 or egg beater from those 1's to save some weight, but interestingly the 3's weigh more than the 1's.
I actually have a brand new set of 3's sitting on my work bench. They do indeed weigh more than the 1's. I'm keeping an eye out on ebay for a good deal on egg beater 11's. A buddy at work snagged a pair for $190 a couple of weeks ago, and they are a solid 100g lighter than my candies.
iibbmm - that is a very, very sweet-looking rig. Love the colors, the lines of the frame, the build specs, and the weight. That is very drool-worthy!

Pushed rear shock and Ti coil boxxer, new xt drivetrain and just added an mrp lopes g2 sl guide. My friends operator. Both bikes courtesy of Mikey at Coates. One of the only places I've found to be very proficient at setting these things up.
Awesome I just finished building mine this weekend but it's a good bit heavier. Would you mind a parts break down? Also what size frame?
My 2011 Steely Upgraded to: Wah Wah pedals, WTB Rocket V saddle Pike fork Kore Torsion wheelset This is a fun bike.
