I walked out of the store with a truing stand, a freewheel, and a couple of tools for $59. Performance Bike has been good to me.

A few years ago, I spent a lot of time in the San Diego area. (I love it there for several reasons.) I stayed with a (then) great friend....(it's a long story)...in the Mira Mesa area. The two fairly local bike shops/stores are the Trek SuperStore and the Performance Store, both in Mira Mesa. (might have been other ones in Mira Mesa, but I don't recall or had not visited them.) Both were good stores, but I felt more welcome at the Performance Store. Friendly, helpful staff, even if you don't spend money there that day. To be fair, the Trek store had store-organized events and/or rides on a regular basis, which Performance didn't, at that time.

I have no other experience at any Performance Store, before or since my visits to the Mira Mesa store. Their phone customer service seems pretty good, in my opinion, the few times I called them.
