Is the Adventure pass requirement for parking at the Maple Springs Visitor Center still no longer in effect? My understanding is that if you are only parking to access the trail (and not use any amenities or facilities at the parking area) you can park for free. I've emailed the contact listed on their homepage but not sure if I'll hear back before his weekend. Thanks!
Jeff you should be good according to the court ruling as long as you don't plan to use any of the facilities (restrooms, barbq, etc.). My buddies paid for an adventure pass a few weeks ago to ride Holy Jim it wasn't needed.

Pretty sure Maple Springs is closed through this fall due to the fire there. Make sure you check, so you don't waste your time driving to the back of Silverado.
YES.....Maple Springs is still part of the Silverado Fire Closure......currently closed til Oct 1, 2016
Here's an official reply I got back: Maple Springs is still closed due to the Silverado Fire. The canyon will remain closed until September 2016. Yes, Adventure Passes are still required on the District. You can purchase them online and at local sporting goods stores. Some local stores in the forest – Candy Story, Jerky store, and the Country store in Silverado Canyon also sell them. Debra Debra R Clarke Wilderness / Trails / Volunteers
