I restarted the program on July 5 and have lost 20lbs so far and I'm in noticeably better shape for 7 weeks in. This thread was the kick in the ass for me, that I needed.

    P90X is the real deal.

Just 3 days in to the P90X program. I am sore from head to toe, but I will be riding this weekend for sure in addition to what I have going on with P90X.

The uncharacteristically early rainy stretch of 3-4 days was the final kick in my butt to start this. With all the trails out of commission, I thought it would be a great time to start.

So many people are liking the p90x. My cousin is doing it right now and says he has lost some inches and gained strength. I'm going to order it this weekend.

27 weeks down with the program. My riding has improved as well. Better core, cardio, & overall endurance since I started P90x

I've been adding the Ab Ripper X, the Stretch, and some of the arm workouts as part of my over-all mt-bike training program. I loved the results last season. My back stopped hurting after long races/rides, my balance improved due to a much stronger core, and my upper body strength came in handy with my SS riding. The added bonus: being able to do 14 unassisted pull-ups (coming from the girl who had maybe been able to squeak out 1 pull-up in her life). I highly recommend either committing and doing the whole program, or picking a few of the dvds to add to your training; in my case, doing the whole program would conflict with training time a little bit, but doing a few of them topped off training very well. :)

14 pull unassisted pull ups? I am not a girl, and I can barely do.. I am not even gonna say. My goodness. How did you build up to do pull ups when you couldn't do any?

I am only on week 2, and I can already see some tangible results. I can actually stay with the 16 minute ab workout portion of the DVD now. The first week, I ended up stopping in the middle and watching helplessly because I was just too tired. Other than pausing the DVD a couple of times for a break, I can actually keep up now.

Does anyone have suggestions on a free standing pull up bar? Or other creative options for the pull ups. The doorway pull up bar won't work with any of our door frames in our house.

I'm looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Stamina-50-1690-1690-Power-Tower/dp/B002Y2SUU4/

Definitely hoping to work some P90X into our VQ training this year.

I don't think the wide pull up should be done with bent handles. The whole pull up bar should be straight.

I think bent pull-up bars are ok to use, the bar that is used on a Lat machine are bent.

I had to start by resting my feet (& a lot of my weight) onto a step stool and do the pull ups that way. That turned into just resting 1 foot, which eventually turned into a few pull ups at a time. It took a while to build up into 14. I was stuck at 8-9 for weeks.

Any thoughts on BeachBody's nutritional products? They seem quite expensive, but worth every penny. It is really hard to cut through the marketing fluff and get an objective assessment of their products.

    My update.

Week 3. I now do 3 pullups. That is about 2.8 more than I could do before starting the program.
