Decided to get some time on rebuilt boxxer on the dh bike today to see how my handywork would hold up. Two separate occassions had some chumps get to trailheads after I was already there and starting to get helmet on but decided they needed to drop in on their super dope hardtails cause they didn't want me holding them up. Passed all 3 of you in the rocks without hesitation, maybe next time show some respect to a rider that was at the top before you. Simple etiquette, regardless of who was on what bike; up first, down first. Rant over. Otherwise gorgeous day and good trails.

Three things:

1) They probably aren't reading this.
2) If you are standing around, you aren't riding.
3) If you thought they'd get in your way you could have asked them to hold up or just give them some extra time to clear the trail.

No biggie, Happy trails.

1. Yup, you're right. Just ranting : P
2. I was sitting on bike buckling helmet with feet on pedals ready to go, wouldnt have minded if I was off to side doing all sorts of stuf only got annoyed because I was ready to go.
3. Both times guy/guys just scooted past before I could say anything without a glance or a word my way.

Bike worked well so I was still stoked

They were probably novices, judging from lack of etiquette. I ride the luge a lot and if I get to the flag and see some riders, that well, don't look fast I will just roll on down the trail after giving them a polite hello. If they catch me than I'll pull over. Gotta remember Aliso is like disney on the weekends, lots of people.

Perhaps I'm new to mountain biking since I've only been at it for 25 years, but I don't recall that portion of the etiquette class. I thought it was whoever was ready to go gets to go. I suppose if your helmet was already on and buckled then you'd have been ready and then could have been first down for the trophy that I'm sure was waiting at the bottom - glad you got it if it was still there.

dope

The only p****y in this thread is someone that whines about not get respect and others getting in their way. No wonder some don't like mtbers.

I dont follow the who gets there first goes first, if i followed that id be sitting there forever. He whom is ready to ride goes first.....you shoukd have seen em coming and shot down the trail before they had a chance to get in front. Just sayin

Depends if you tried to snipe me on a specialized hardtail at lynx or carwreck I guess

I don't ride a hardtail and I didn't ride today.

Aliso can be frustrating on the weekends--it's crowded and (this may just be my imagination, but...) some of the riders seem to have more attitude and are less considerate. It can be frustrating.

I've had riders drop in on me. Usually, it's easy enough to just give them some time then go. I have had 2 or 3 times the rider(s) actually wound up spoiling my descent. Was it a bummer? Yeah. But the trail is still there tomorrow.

What the guys on the hardtails did today may have been rude or inconsiderate. And they might have been lycra-clad XC, carbon jockey Strava junkies, etc. with a bad attitude. Or they may have been oblivious newbs.

But your post is definitely rude.

You should have spent the time it took to post that talking about the trail conditions, upload a pic or two, give a ride report. Ya gotta, Accentuate the positive, decentuate the negative... You'll be happier if you do that and we will too because we won't be reading negativity--that's what many of us go out onto the trails to get away from...it has no place here, IMHO.

Happy trails.

OP: Take the "me first" OC attitude elsewhere, like 24 hour fitness.

The only chump here is the one riding a DH bike on the weekends at Aliso.

Suppose it's better to buckle the helmet BEFORE getting on the bike to start the ride.

dh bikes, lynx, and saturday dont go well in the same conversation. Even if they weren't holding you up id be careful on weekends there before you open it up, hikers are everywhere. It just takes one run in to make us look bad.

At Aliso on the weekend or you go really early or late as hikers and weekend warriors are out and about

If they took off in front of you and you passed them i still don't see the problem ,so you didn't have a meticulous good run on a public trail on a weekend......how about climb back up and do another run :?:

Not only is the OP wrong, he can't spell either. What the heck are p****ies?
