Race Report OTH #4 - Disco Fever

You could also do an epic and remake of alexander the great with dino as the lead roll of alexander.

I offer up a couple of thoughts
1 - All those of you sponsored by FB - show up next week on your own dime. If you truly don't have the coin to do that, then some of us who have been offering to sponsor Dino can probably divert that to you - especially since you have proven you will at least try.
2 - All photogs should get plates with their URL's so that all of us vain types can look at ourselves either suffeering or hamming it up for the camera. If you are selling photos, you might get a couple more $'s. ( PS to all photogs, go with a slow shutter speed when I go by = make me look fast)
3 - If you want/need beer at the end; hit me up (please do give me time to finish first) near the STR tent. I usually have some and my belly doesn't need all of what I brought.

 

Dino, you're right David is one cool cat and the hardest worker I've met. We have a ton of fun propping the race each week.

This week's course is the longest we'll run...and though it seems like we love to torture the half lap is purely strategic , allows is avoiding a hole shot fight into the boat storage where trailers could eat legs for dinner.

Every week we have 25 staff / support crew from the featured shops and other volunteers. Without such an overwhelming commitment from STR and others we couldn't pull off the race or just as important to us the VIBE that surrounds the night.

This week we're back to the clockwise direction and slightly shorter course (no half lap).

Also this week June 21 is family night. 70 foot long inflatable obstacle course for the kid in all of us along with the Tikes & Trikes Bike race for the little ones. So its time to bring out the whole family and make them cheer your race on (while actually having fun themselves). And yes they can drink the beer and eat quesadillas while they are hanging with John and I at the staging area waiting for the racers to start the party.

The next Dino!

 

I was one of the first timers that Mike sponsored and definitely caught the bug and plan on doing OTH again this summer. I don't think I can make it on a weekly basis since I normally work until 6:30-7pm and leaving at 4pm is pretty tough to pull off. I've already challenged a couple of my riding buddies to get out there and race w/ me!

 

1. David is way cool. He will have a few extra helpers this week!

2. Just to be clear: this week's course will be shorter and run in a clockwise direction.

3. Family night was pretty cool last year (listening to the kids having a good time).
Pack the kids in the car... Drive to race... Have fun... Done!
*simple way to meet a ton of str people!
