After today's feeble attempt at the Strawberry Peak ride I realized my frame/bike is useless till the warranty replacement frame is ready. As I posted in another thread, the frame crack prevents me from using the correct set screw type EBB and they gave me a loaner expanding EBB that simply sucks and does not work and because of it, my ride got cut short after I did the work to get to the fun part.

Anyway, the same colored frame wont be ready for a while (May till Large green frames ready). Sounds like I can get a different color frame perhaps now and it got me thinking......

Here is a pic of my bike (except it has a Reba on it now).....lots of green stuff which may clash, and I cant have that :p ....would the orange replacement frame look way lame? They have red but then it is a christmas tree so no thanks.....

or do i just stop thinking about it and stop whining like a little biatch and wait for the new frame. The company is awesome......they are the coolest and are doing everything they can, just that sooner is better than later.

while I dig the orange, why not wait for the frame you want. I'm like you in that I always want now, and am willing to compromise, but if I would wait a little more, I would get what I really want.

But like I said, the orange is coo.

I like the orange personally, I would get that :D
thanks guys....i t hink i am gonna ask em if they have Orange....i like to change things up anyway. However, maybe you hate it and you are only saying you like it cause it is April Fool's day! Oh yeah, since it is April Fool's day, I forget to tell you....I think I want to get a Turner after all :)

Orange would work. What other colors do they carry?

For this model (One 9), they have what they call Godzilla Green (what I currently have), Tang (the orange), and Hot Tamale (Red pictured frame).

The company is Ninerbikes and they now have other models....a Steel version of mine which also comes with a der hanger....and a geared hardtail....and a FS out soon. They are a great company. For example, I know one person who also had a frame from the first batch and had the same crack (which has not been fixed on new runs) and the owner sent his personal frame to the guy since they were the same size till they could get him a new one. TOP NOTCH customer service.

I hear yuh......I guess I am really bored right now (thus the post) and to be honest, just started thinking about the orange and thought it might look cool afterall. I have no problem waiting really since I have other wheels available......just that I wouldnt mind fixing it sooner than later and the orange is starting to grow on me.

But the most important reason I should change = DSTEPPER's first words to me today having never met me......"Hey, you got my bike!" So out of respect to him, since he did set up the great ride and all, I should change my frame color

definitely go with the Red or Orange.

if you're from any of these heritages:

Mexican, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Italian, Jordanian, Algerian, Kuwaiti or Iranian go with the Red Frame. (Red, White & Green color combo)

from India, Irish, Nigerian, Macauan, Madascarian, Omanian, or the United Arab Emirates go with the Orange Frame (Orange, White, & Green color combo)

that is, of course, if you're into representing your country via your bike.

either way you can't lose, those frames are really nice!!

how much is it for that frame you're waiting for?
Both the Scandium One 9 that I have and the Reynolds 853 steel SIR frame are $749

i really love the amount of pearl in that orange paint job... looks sweet

I'm dig the orange also. Heck, all the colors look cool, but the orange reminds me of my first true mountain bike, a kona steelframe hardtail!:bang:

Thanks...I emailed them to see the availability of the Orange versus the green. I like both so whatever comes first is fine.....this bike is not my prized posession anyway, though I do love the way it rides. I got it as my intro to the whole "29er thang".

Here is their Kermit Green color (available for their SIR steel frames). If I wanted a steel frame I would definitely want this color. My friend has it and it is sweet. This bike was Ninerbikes' show bike for Interbike with freakin polished EVERYTHING!

yeah, that would be cool. I think the company that does (paints) jericho, soulcraft, and some others is dmfg and they do glow in the dark. Pretty sure spectrumpowderworks will to.

however, for this bike, unless you do it complete after the fact, custom colors are not an option. I am gonna stick to one of the 3 stock colors which are fortunately pretty good anyway. I just went through the annoying process of picking a custom color for my new Ventana that just finished being painted.....just too many colors to choose from for this small mind!

Am I the only one in love with the green? Beautiful! I'm to short for the Niners. Tried one that was supposed to be my size and I didn't care for it. Might be I just need to get used to sitting higher and just the feel, but I have too many bikes as it is. My friend in Vegas won't ride anything else since he got the REBA for it.
