Just try and guess. It's 1977 in O'neal Park and that's my 1975 KZ 900.

My mother found this a couple weeks ago while looking through some old family albums: a photo of my hero (my grandfather) building my first tricycle.

My 15 minutes of fame. I worked it...the cool part was that a similar photo from this shoot wound up in details magazine. I didn't know it, but then my friend Donna called me and told me...I felt like a hero at my 10 year high school reunion later that month.

Salsa MBA test bike with Bontrager fork. I punished that bike!

and a motocross photo (Washougal). It's oldschool because I'm retired now.

    rad old pics

I really enjoyed all the old school pics. Rigid forks, butterscotch tires, and long hair faded pics from the "olden" days.

Got any thai stick or acapulco gold...man?

Oh yeah look at the real life Hyde in the red button up and the green hot box van far left. classic.

Oh my. I think I won't admit to how long I drooled over pictures of you riding that bike. In fact, of the six or seven MBA's I've kept from over the years, that issue is one of them.

Eventually, I did put together an identical bike.

Pat- that's pretty awesome!! It looks like part of the crew from "That 70's Show"!!

I'd bet we past right by each other a few times at O'Neil back in the day....I used to hang-out there with my older brothers, when we'd cruise up to ride motorcross at Racing Country, which is now Dove Canyon & Coto De Caza.

Sorry Jeff, but if you remember it....you're old!!

Actually, thanks for the correction....it was Escape Country, but then they changed the name to Racing World not long before they closed down. I guess my age is showing, by not remembering the names correctly??!! #-o

Good times racing back in the day!!

My very first motocross race was at Escape Country. I remember going to the line feeling guilty for signing up in the beginner class... but guilt evolved into complete disappointment. I got spanked.

Ummm... I'm sure that it was the bike and not me8-[

I remember the photo shoot well. John Kerr had me do at least 20 runs off that little drop. I think that there are wooden stairs there now. The bars started bending after about the first 4 or 5 runs. We did the photos in Santiago Oaks Park. The cool part is that the magazine came out just before my 10 year high school reunion.
