I'll have to go to my parents but I know there is a cool one of me in a party dress on my bike. Not even a nice dress could keep me off my bike.

    My Schwinn Hardtail

This is from around 1969 as I roamed the mean streets of La Mirada..... er, looks like it could have been my first day of 6th grade.

We rode a mix of urban, DJ & SS MTB. :D

Notice the front spring appears to be collapsed in this shot (no doubt from jumping). I was pretty hard on those things, but at $10+/- each, I couldn't afford to replace them right away.

Not my first bike, but my second. My first was identical to this one, but was metallic orange (and was stolen from me around 1966 while I was at baseball practice). Didn't get another until a few years later, we found it at a swap meet for $25. I was so happy to finally have another bike.

Some pics from around 1992-93. The bike was a Gary Fisher Supercaliber. Originally rigid, I put a Manitou II fork on it. Mmmm, 60mm of sweet elastomer travel.

My first full-suspension bike. 1996 Mantis ScreamingV. Thermoplastic carbon fiber. Check out the Nuke Proof stem! Nice and long for those technical descents.

Shu, you had a Stroker? Yeah, those were anchors! I started at La Mirada also 80-81 but on a Webco. I'll have to dig up and scan some of those pics. Although I think the only photo I have of that bike was at Skate City.

    Land Speed Record Circa 1941.

This is an old school pic from a land speed record in 1941. The guy set a record of 108 miles per hour on a Schwinn Paramount. I pulled it from a book (Offenhauser) about Offy engines that ruled Indy for about 20 years. ( until the Ford engine came along)

How'd you like to try and pull that gear? The thing looks like a flex plate from an old Hemi! It also looks like a 29er in the rear.

We used to ride mini-bikes and motorcycles in that spot before they turned it into a park. Then, by the time they turned that part of the park into a BMX track, I was into cars. I lived in those houses on the other side of Foster Rd. Family still does.

Cool pics from everybody. Thanks for sharing.
