I read this in yesterday's Outdoor's section:

Aug. 20: Mountain Bike Ride on Weir/Blind/Fremont Canyons Loop, 8 a.m. Very strenuous 12-mile ride through deep canyons and steep hillsides, through what is called the "Yosemite of Orange County." Access is limited; reservations for docent-led outings are required due to the area's sensitive habitat. Reservations and information: (714) 832-7478.

Anyone know where this is or what its about?

I believe it is up behind Irvine Lake.

It's a great loop.

Start in Irvine park at lot # 18 at the end of the park.

Just call the phone number and leave your call-back number. You do need to call them in order to attend the ride. I just left a message 30 minutes ago.

If you do plan on attending, just make sure you are there and ready to ride by 8:00 am so you don't get left behind.

correction, Lot #15 -Sorry.

Once in the park, make the first right and follow the road all the way to the end of the park. You should try to get to the park by 7:05 in order to have time to get ready so the ride can start on time. There are typically cars with bikes lined up at the front entance to the park waiting for the gates to open at 7:00 am. Just follow the line of cars to the parking lot.

alot of the time you can just show up because alot of people dont show up. it seems like that ride fills up fast i tried to sign up for that one before and it was full.
