FYI - Passing on some info provided by Jake (MVP Cycle Center) about the Whiting TT (thanks Jake!):

As you probably already know, the Whiting Ranch TT is this Saturday and they have had enough people sign up to expand the field! They upped their permit to 130 riders and they have 15 spots to fill. Let’s help the guys who brought us racing in the OC Parks! If you know of anyone who would be interested in signing up, send them to this link:

Let’s keep mountain bike racing alive and well as we look to grow this grass roots program!

This is great, last year I think there were around 70 entries, so it would almost double if we had a field of 130. The added interest is a testament to the folks running it now; its a ton of fum. I'm trying to drop 30 seconds from last years time...we'll see

This probably explains the large turn out of riders at Whiting today. Maybe pre riders for the race Sunday? I was getting chased today. Haha.

Is this race the whole loop or just the Dreaded climb?
I wasn't sure from the website.

    From Website:

Racers will head up Dreaded and then descend down to Mustard, turning right they will head to and descend Cactus. Next, racers will head up to Vulture View road to Sage Scrub then to Line Shack road towards Serrano Cow trail back to the foot of Dreaded.

The page shows elevation/route info coming soon. Out of curiosity, does anyone know about how much elevation gain there is in those 4.5 miles?

It's a pretty short course but that's not bad at all. Having never rode the area the video made it sound worse.
