well back decided to be a pain in the ass literally. Sciatic nerve again. At this point im on crutches becuase any weight on the left foot is unbelievably painful. They have me on steriods because the nerve is really inflamed, plus cortisone and 2 iv's. Damn nurse missed my vein 3 times trying to give me the meds. Rookie nurse. So anyhow, out for three wks. Need to have an MRI to look at the options of surgery ( again). this time maybe more serious than a discectomy (sp). We shall see. On that note I am accepting beer donations.

Real sorry to hear. I've been lucky enough to not have any back problems, but my Mom and Uncle have had surgeries and wife and a good friend deal with stenosis so know it's pretty miserable. Hoping for the best for ya.

IV tips: make sure you are well-hydrated, warm, and don't use your veins for shooting up heroin. Also, if you have a good vein, don't be afraid to point it out.

    Hope you feel better soon!

I pointed out a good vein, I think she pushed it out somehow while taping it down. She mentioned something a valve. She seemed really nervous too. I think she was just new. But man this Methylprednisolone makes me feel like crap. And thanks Quinne

Sorry to hear it's flared up. Good luck -- you know I'm right there with ya (but without the crutches).

Invest in a shiatsu massage chair. It really helped with my back problems although I haven't had any issues with my sciatic nerve just minor back pain from work. Happy road to recovery!
