Anyone interested in a morning ride the "day after"? I live in Corona and usually ride the river trail into Orange and then scoot over to Santiago Canyon road for some pleasure and pain....really more pain than pleasure . I am open to riding anywhere but need the total trip to be around 4 hours, let me know if you are interested!
There is a ride put on by Competitive Edge Cyclery in Upland. I'm not sure of the times yet, but it goes off from their store and some others start as far east as Don's bikes in Redlands. This ride goes all the way to the Rose Parade. They get there early enough and watch the parade for a while then pedal back. It's around 75 miles or so from Competitive Edge and over 100 from Don's. I'm thinking on starting at Comp. Edge.
How bout you start at Dons and give me a call when you get close to my house then I'll ride out and join you?
Here's the email I got from my road club: Hi everyone, What better way to start the new year than a short ride to see the Rose Parade? This is a fun ride that several clubs ride together. If you are new to the club or have never done the ride before...it is worth getting up early for. And if you have done it before...do it again!! This ride has become the offical kick off ride for the new year. Come and ride to the Rose Parade and see it up close with your friends. We ride to the parade route through streets with little traffic , watch the parade and then we go EAT!!! We will be leaving from 2 different locations 1-Competitve Edge-Upland- 56 miles- shop is at the corner of Euclid and Foothill. Plan on leaving here at 6:40AM. 2- Citrus College, Glendora - 25 miles- the riders starting from Competive Edge will ride to Citrus College to join the group starting from the college. The College is at the corner of Foothill and Citrus Ave ( north of the 210 fwy). Plan on being ready to leave from the college at 7:45Am. We should get to the parade at about 9:00 AM. Both groups will ride together to the parade route. You don't have to be a club memebr to ride this.
Well, its dons bikes in rialto, not redlands, unless there is another one which im not to sure about, but if you are gonna leave from your house i would rather do that. what time do you leave at?
