New guy needs advice

Hey everyone, great site. I am pretty new to this and I am getting a lot of good info here, so thanks.


I have been hearing about a shuttle run that goes from somewhere in the Ortegas all the way down near the beach, can anyone clue me in on this? I am trying to get a ride going with some freinds where we would ride down, jump into a truck, and go surfing. I think that would be great. I'm on an entry level XC hardtail and none of my freinds have downhill bikes, so I'm hoping the trail isnt some crazy huck-fest. Any advice would be very appreciated, thanks.

Theres to trails connecting the Santa Ana Mountains to the Ocean.(that I know of) Theres the mountain to sea trail which starts in the foothills of Northern M.D it ends up at Newport Bay and the aliso creek bike path which goes from cooks corner to aliso creek beach. Dont know about any specific shuttles but you u pedal up the Main Divde from Bluejay and ride down and connect to the trail.
