I want to replace the one I got now but not sure what to get!! What brand and model works better for the SS thing? I'm not sure I want the carbon thing. Does the new carbon Tech stuff better? does it matter? I've been riding the 29er allot since I got it so i plan on putting the same miles on the new bar!! Just not liking the narrow feel and I've heard it helps to have em wide for the climbs. "Cow" got this one bar (holzfeller 28" risers) on his new Redline and seems to work for him what do u all think?#-o

Say bye to the $450 SS. New brakes, new bar, maybe new cranks & wheels? What's the total now?

btw... Dean uses the Azonic DW bar on his SS & I use it on my DHR. It's about 28" wide.

I like the feel of the On-One Mary's on rigid bikes. Seems to relieve a lot of wrist pain for me.

To get wide bars I had to go with downhill bars. I do have carbon bars on my 5-Spot but I hesitate using carbon bars on the singlespeed. There have been times on steep climbs that I have pulled up on the bars with every bit of strengh I have. I know carbon is strong but I have trust issues with it.

With carbon bars, Dave Turner sugests that you take a round file and round off all the sharp egdes on shifters and brake clamps were they contact the bars. That is where he sees carbon bars fail.

Dean, don't you have that "moustache" bar?

I thought that was more of an SS thing than a DH thing?

Pulling real hard on a tough climb I can feel the bars flex. I have to be honest and say, is this going to hold up? So far it has, but I do wonder. I got the Race Face Next bars on my 5*, mainly because of the lifetime guarentee. I work with carbon fiber and I've seen some amazing things done with it, but I've also seen it put into applications where it's failed miserably. I'm uncomfortable with my carbon bars on my ss, but not my spot.
