Yes, I am still a loser......
Here I am sorely missing my killer X5 I had to sell.....
Here I am with my riding time WAY the heck down and as usual, pacifying my frustration with wanting to buy more bike stuff......
Sold my only geared bike after realizing that for every single ride that is either XC or even all mountain-ish, I will ALWAYS choose the single speed, period, so no mas.....
Now, I have "convinced" myself that the only geared bike I really want is a longer travel bike where for certain rides (ie, Shuttle runs with the STR gang) I would not bring a single speed hardtail. Though I am a girly-man (no offense STR Ladies
), I really would love such a bike for those rides/certain riders I sometimes join.
I definitely dont want to bling it out which is why I am scared to buy the frame first and build it up cause most of us know that even though deals can be had on parts if you are patient, some of us NEVER can stick to the plan and every part becomes more chi chi than planned and when complete, the bike cost a fortune....not this time.
I just got a promotion Friday so I am gonna hit the wife today with with the sympathy left hook and convince her "this is the bike I really need that I dont have"......or, "i dont feel safe on certain rides without the appropriate bike"....."it is cheaper than hookers and a bad cocaine habit".....basically, whatever works.
