Just sharing a little bit of new bike goodness. I used some of the $$ from selling my Tracer to get this. It's a Haro Extreme 7. Not top of the line by any means, but it's a good start. My LBS sold it to me for $1400 out the door.

I decided to sell my Tracer because I only used it as a back-up bike. My main ride is a heavily upgraded '04 Spec Enduro Expert, and I just never rode the Tracer. It had less than two hundred miles on it because I like the way the Enduro rides so much more.

I figured I didn't need a 4" travel bike when I had the 5" travel Enduro, so I decided to sell it to get the $$ to buy a longer travel bike for shuttle runs and such. I mean, I still have my old HT, I have the Enduro, I might as well get a longer travel bike so I have all the bases covered.

I sold it to a friend of mine for $1750. He mainly rides dirt jump stuff and wanted an XC bike so he could start hitting the trails more and riding with the rest of our group of friends. I hated to let it go at that price since it was spec'd so well, but Tracers don't sell for much these days and I was happy to help out a friend.

I took it out for the first time today and it is awesome. It has a decent parts spec and rode very well. It climbed decently--for a 40 pound bike that is--and was awesome in the rough stuff. I cleaned a section of trail today I have never even had the guts to attempt because I thought it was unridable for me personally (I have a job to go to and a family to think about so I'm not ashamed to walk if it gets too gnarly:-$ ). Well, this bike gave me the confidence and I cleaned it on the second try and I guess that's what it's all about.

I know you can get a SC Nomad that can do just as much with a lesser weight penalty, but I didn't have $4000 to drop on that, so I will be just as happy on the Haro. If you're on a budget, it's not a bad choice. Here's the parts spec if you're interested:

I got it at my LBS--Bicycle Warehouse in Vista (north San Diego county). I've spent an ungodly amount of $$ in there, so they usually hook me up with good discounts. I also got a "Thule Sidearm" tray for my roof rack (since the 20mm thru axle wont work on my V2 fork clamp trays) for $90 when the MSRP is $140:bang:

COOOOOLLL dood! now try riding that sucka up the hills cause thay fly on down! try riding it up curbs just for fun,trips peeps out. but the qwestshun is.....did you get a kickstand? mmmmmnnnn?

Ya, it's a beast going uphill but actually climbs better than I thought it would. I went up a tall curb without lifting up on the bars at all during the test ride and it went right up smooth as can be:bang: That tripped me out a bit.

I didn't get a kickstand, but I am gonna try to go full-carbon-everything to cut down on the weight as soon as I can afford to.
