I got more lightweight parts comming so target weight is high 21 pounds.

Oh yeah, polisher and scratch remover is not included with the bike so bike turned out to cost more than expected.

Very nice indeed, that thing looks soooo fast! Awesome build, a set of I9s would have put that over the top but of course that would have been a weight penalty compared to that set of wheels.

Ditch those wire bead tires too, gotta compliment the ZTR rims.

Switch out the wire bead tires for kevlar also. I'm not usually a fan of specialized but the full carbon look does look pretty sweet. But then again just the thought of the $$$$ gives me the the heebie jeebies.

I knew you were going to build light, but man, that is really light.Good job in getting it done. Very expensive build, but looks like you'll be first up the hill pretty soon, if you're not already.
Not a lot of CF mountain bikes out there yet. What's the warranty? I'm also wondering how the Pace works out. Must be a big change going from all that travel to a xc bike. How do you like the ride so far? I'd have to ditch that seat though, that thing looks like it could almost fold over. Even my road bike has more covering it.
Probably the lightest fs around.

Well im a weenie myself, 132 pounds plus all the gear I carry, say 145 max so thats why the bikes strength wasnt really a big concern. I need to learn to use clip on pedals so for now ill stick to these platforms. The bike makes a big difference on the ride and it just pedals and pedals. No bobing, I just dont feel it. Good thing I brought it to Buck Horn last Sunday or else I woulda been toast on the climb out. The seats are pretty confortable, it felt better than the more padded WTB speed Gel I have on my DH bike. Maybe it fits me better. Ill give it a few more ride and a chance to break-in to really tell how it feels. On the tires, I had my eyes set on the Kenda Klimax but they were 1.9" tires, I think a bit too small. Have anyone used The Crow tires, the one that Stan's sells?

Nope, I was with him, we did a out and back on the Burkhart Trail, started at Buckhorn Campground Angeles National Forest to Burkhart Saddle and back.

As a Specialized owner, I say that's a nice bike. I'm not a fan of carbon fiber, myself, though. I'm still not sold on its strength.

And, yeah, Tin, dude, get some clipless pedals and learn to use them. It's not that big of a deal. I bought my Stumpjumper in January and it only took a couple months to get used to them. You can set them really loose so you can clip out fast. You'll really notice a difference riding with clipless you'll just fly up hills because you can generate about 30% more power with each revolution. Any time I've actually had a crash, my feet unclipped. Of course, that doesn't count the times I stalled out and fell over doing a horizontal trackstand. (Which the chicks really dig, fellas.)
