MTB: Beginners And Intermediate Skills Links

Jonny427, I think you are regarding to the trail conservation method of cornering known as the 'late apex'.

Drop D, I know what you mean about friend(s) not throwing in a helping hand during the learning curve. Only for me, by the time I felt comfortable riding downhill, my friend seemed to have risen to an even higher level:

Linked here by a admin to help with fear on steep and rocky terrain. I'm not seeing the link for dealing with the mental blocks for scary terrain riding. Did i miss it? Bike skills are completely different than dealing with fear and mental blocks which can get you hurt even more than lack of skill. Anyone have links on mental preperation?

No, you didn't miss it, but I will add some. If you find any good ones, let me know and I can add them. ;)

Thank you for adding the links especially the last one since that's one of my challenges at this time.

Besides words from the pros, how do others here on STR deal with mental block and fear?

Hmm, just experience worse fear? I dunno how to explain it well, but once you go through rougher stuff, many things just seem like no big deal. :D

I will do some searching and see what I can find.

I find riding with better riders and watching their line helps me most. You gotta think, if their bike can roll through a section so can yours.

I would say start a thread to get other members opinions, but, since you did that and its obvious that you only require the search function to find your answer, it was closed :-k. Sorry 8-[.
