    Lion or Dog?

Whats your opinion, are these Mountain Lion or Dog?
I came across them as I was riding in LCWP yesterday 3/1/2010 around 3pm.
I was way up Bommer a short distance from the entrance to Laguna ridge, I would say at least 2 miles into the park.
The tracks came from nowhere and only lasted a short while. This tells me they came from the woods. However the claw marks are very clear in some of the tracks. I think the claw marks are visible because the ground was still wet in some places on the fire road. I think the ML was trying to keep his footing by using his claws. Also the prints were HUGE and deep showing large size and weight. The tracks were fresh because the mud was still moist underneath them. Also notice there are no Human footprints anywhere near the tracks. The only way to me this could be a dog's tracks is if a very big dog strayed into the park alone for 2 miles alone after the rain at night or early morning. This does not seem likely.

You can see nail marks on those prints, lions retract their claws.

I'd lean towards a bigger dog on those. Claws tend to canine, but no X across print tends to feline. General shape seems more canine. Mud can make prints look bigger and distort them. They look pretty big; but need good reference. I see some shoe prints in your shots as well. A good screenshot or still showing a well defined central pad would be best.

Those may be the track of a werewolf ... I suggest we all start carrying silver bullets... no guns, just the bullets, please.
