This sounds Rad but registration starts at 4:00 and the race starts at 6:00? Is this race limited to the unemployed? Even if one pre-registers, how are the 9-5ers supposed to get there and be ready by 6:00?

I was able to get on and view the pictures. Curious, were these the before or after pics?

they are AFTER pics. there are plans to clean it up a bit more but it's pretty much going to be what you see in the pics. Keep in mind, the picture is only of the singletrack part that was probably only 1/4 mile. There are plenty of fireroads as well and singletracks on the other side of the lake.

Wasn't complaining. Just curious. Running a bunch of bikes through there will clean it up a bit more!

Well unless they want to make it a night race or you have some special ability to keep the sun up longer 6:00 seems like a good start time.

I have never done a race before. I'm not sure what to expect but I think this would be fun to try it for the first time! :)

I heard Roman Roth's going to be there! When did he race last? '97?!

I'm taking $20 bets on him. My $20's on his win! Anyone want to play?

No GPS data since we did not get a chance to ride the whole course. We only worked on a small section of the singletrack. As i mentioned before, even if there was gps data, it would be more or less useless since you can't ride the course (on private property)

    beginner or sport....

i never raced MTB before...beginner seems like the logical choice for me...

but $20 for one loop? when you can actually do 2 loops on the sport level with the same $20?

    this is a dilemma....8-[

Looks fun and will be challenging to race an unknown course!

Don't want to complicate your first race but are you considering a singlespeed class in the future?

One thing I'm missing is actual directions to the race. This is Irvine Lake, not Irvine Park right? I assume its off of Santiago Canyon??
