Any ideas on the route? I have never riden any trails at Irvine Lake.

Since the race starts at 6pm does that mean it's a mass start and then beginners will do 1 lap and get off the course while the rest continue and so on and so forth?

Also will there be a women's class? I think the misses would love to race one of these as well.

Registration page has option of Men/Women Beg/Sport/Expert classes. Age groups depend on registration. No word on SS.

T-Shirt size options are S/M/L/XL. No XXL or XXXL - doesn't look like they count on clydes class ;)

Nice! I may have to make one of these my first race since it seems like it will be pretty laid back. Anyone have any links to info about the trails in that area?

after reading the site over a few times it seems like it will be a closed course, in other words, doesn't look like you can pre-run the course prior to the race. I'm more or less curious as to how much climbing and decending there will be...

I too am curious about what course they have. There are hills similar to Blackstar behind Irvine Lake but I believe it is private property. It would be cool if the route was set up on the privite property side. It is real scenic back there. Other wise, I picture a few laps around the lake which is fairly flat.

Thank You Rock and Road...OC needs this.

Since the County Parks don't allow racing (except for firefighters) I would think that the race will stay on the city of Irvine's property. If you want a taste of the trails out there join the Taco Tuesday ride out there.
