Ride Report Maxwell's Labor Day Ride 9/7/09 - Blackstar/Skinsuit/Skyline

Hhmm...spoted this while climbing up Skyline. Looks like it comes off Skinsuit. I need to do a little exploring.

Yes, I have seen this trail before and I am pretty sure I know where it starts. There is also another trail that runs down the other side of the ridge but it may be a bushwhack at the bottom.

Funny. Gabe said he'd been hitting that one all this time thinking it was Skinsuit. :lol:

When it cools off, I'll throw a ride together and come up Skyline to Skinsuit, and peel off, then see where it ends up.

i've gone up the tin mine road looking for the bottom of that trail... never found it.

So it seems that I missed the part that said bring gears,full boinger,pads,baggies,hydration pack full of misc. items,more than one tube, oh yea and not to go to Sierra peak before going back to the top of Black Star:?:
Oh well I still had a great time! My first time down skin suit was a blast! Thanks to all who helped out with the flats! Sue heal up fast!!

Then it dawned on me that I had to descend the bottom third of Skinsuit with two bikes on foot. I think it would have been a lot easier to ride... next time, once Sue heals.

On the drive back to Blackstar, Chewy asked if she would do SS again. Her response was something like, "Yeah, I'll do it again."

Contrary to what one may think, that's not one of the reasons that I married her... it's just a bonus.:bang:

Bring a pack next time and I can show you how to stock it full with lots of sandwiches and trailmix...then maybe you can show me which button I need to push on my bike to move at HUGH speed smiling all the way.

Looks are deceiving. Some of those chutes I couldn't even walk down with the bike!! You skate, roll or slide.
