    I will be riding from home and will plan to swing by La Verne Heights Elementary, join up with folks parking there and then make our way to Oak Mesa.

    if you get there early enough there should be just enough parking for everyone.

    I say early because I don't know if any sort of little league/soccer/etc is using that field saturday morning. If they are things will be interesting

    Just so you know...I am not above taking down a 4th grader for a good parking spot. Punks.

    Q, I plan on parking below @ La Verne Heights Elementary School as I have no interest in taking parking spots away from whiny little kids and parents. If you want to park their too and cruise up the road with me and whom ever else is there, let me know and I'll wait for you. I'm probably getting there about 8-8:15am.

    Don't their parents just drop them off in their beemers and then go elsewhere?

    :lol:

    Wait, that's in OC.

    ::ducks::

    Funny you said that. I managed/coached my sons Little League team for 5 years and that was the one thing that used to piss me off the most. Parents thought this was some sort of day care service and only a few would hang out and watch and sometimes offer to help. This was mostly during practices though. Games seemed to bring them out and put them in the bleachers. The moms watched their kids and talked amongst other moms. The dads, on the other hand, sometimes watched their kids but most of the time, they watched the other moms and their was some hot moms to check out. I, for one, was guilty of hot-mom spectating and used to get in trouble with the ex all the time. Oh well, LOL! :lol:

    No matter where we park, is there a central meeting place where we should gather?

    Oak Mesa would be the best bet. There are a lot of folks that have never been to Marshall and they don't know where the trailhead is.

    Plus, it will be a little difficult to miss such a huge group of bikers when rolling up and down Wheeler...

    Plus, it should be enough space to organize the groups...

    Granted, you'll have to find the parking lot this time and not miss it again, but i see your point :drunk:

    OK, so here's the deal. I called Oak Mesa Middle School this week to inquire about any games or activities taking place at the park on the Saturday of our ride. I was told by the school’s secretary that she was not aware of anything happening but that I should contact Parks and Recreation. So I spoke to Chad from P&R at La Verne and he stated that the only group using the park at this time is AYSO for soccer practice and suggested that I contact them.
    After finally getting the right contact for division 112 (La Verne), I was informed by Steve Kennedy (Commissioner) that they do use the park for practice on the weekends but not all the time. And did not think they will be using it this weekend but would call me Thursday night (last night) if his scheduled showed otherwise. I never got a call back so I assume they don’t have anything going on.
    Everyone (the school, city, and AYSO) was very appreciative that we were willing to park somewhere else to not disrupt parking for any scheduled activities but also stated that we were free to do so if in fact AYSO was not using the park. You can take this info for what is worth and decide for yourself where to park. The parking lot will definitely not have enough space for all of us, so parking on the street or other near by locations will definitely be a good idea.
