Late notice, but if you're interested be at the Maple Springs lot by 8:30a.

Only 5 days 'til the toads take over--makes this the last weekend for Maple Springs until September. Hope some folks can make it.

Edit: Added map link.

Unless I just can't get my azz out of bed I'll be there Ladd. I'll give you a ring if it looks like I'm going to be late (or absent). I'm so tired now that I don't think I'll be staying up late, so I'll be there.

Well, to Rob, Lance Dell and myself; good ride today guys. Everyone else, you missed out. Perfect conditions all day. The motorway sure is some nice single track. No one had any mishaps except that I lost my travel adjustment cap on the fork, and Lance had noticed it coming down Motorway. Thanks again Lance for picking up my bling .

No prob! Good ride too. I was pretty wiped out afterwards from 3 straight days of riding. Next time we'll have to grab some grub and brews post-ride!

It was a good ride guys! Always nice to be reminded of just how brutal that climb on MD is heading towards Motorway ](*,) It was a great ride to break in the new Spot, she performed flawlessly and I couldn't be happier. I have a few pics from the ride I'll post later on today, but I'm going riding now :D

Is this the same outbreak from before AZ? If so, you are highly allergic. I would take Rob's advice and wear leg and arm warmers.

So far I've been really lucky. I've come in contact several times but a little Tecnu wash when I get home kept me from breaking out. Maybe I'm immune? I do have some native american blood in me.

Yup, same 'outbreak.' Last year it put me in the ER twice within a span of a week. This one's 'mild' compared to last time. Went to the health center at school today and got some super strength hydrocortisone, some good antihistamine, and a soak thing. *crosses fingers*

If I ever do Chiquita again it'll def. be with arm/leg warmers and a tecnu shower afterwards.

Don't forget about the chemical protection option:
http://www.ivyblock.com/

I don't know if that stuff works, but you'd be the perfect test subject since you are so allergic. If it works, I'd order it by the gallon, bro!

George I also seem to draw the dreaded weed to me. That Ivy Block stuff does work, but you have to recoat it if you have sweated to much. Technu has saved my bacon more then once. I still will get it, just a lot less severe. To the point where I can handle it. Another thing I do which has helped a lot is to wipe my bike down with Simple Green. I'm not trying to sell the stuff, but it helped me a lot.

I heard that Maple Springs was open to bicycles and hikers during the toad ritual. Is that not the case?

It's always been my understanding that it is closed to all traffic, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure that's correct.
Last year was an exception, due to all of the rain - there wasn't going to be any toad boinking with all of that water flowing down.
