Geoman: have all the return notifications been sent via e-mail?

I recieved the e-mail on the battery sale for those that 'can't wait'.

I have not received the info about how to start the process, battery return etc. Please clarify. Thanks.

    @Geoman:

I haven't received a recall notice yet. Should I just go through the website, or PM you my address again?

The best way is to use the Contact Us form with "Magicshine Battery Recall" option as subject, we can check your name and email your PIN if it didn't arrive in the mail

Recall Admin Firm is processing those claim forms that have arrived and we expect to get some completed claims going out this week. We got a huge wave of completed claims arriving at the end of last week

Does the firm plan to provide an update by email, or if you log in with your pin number, can you see status of your claim?

    Thx

    Geoman,

Is there a time limit as to filing our recall notices? I have filled up my recall submission claim form but I haven't had the time to drop off the batteries at a recall center.

Save yourself some time and call ahead to confirm the recall center will take a "Lithium Ion" battery. Some of the locations posted on the 'Recall' locater will not take lith-ion (Radio Shack in Newport Beach).

At this time we are keeping it really simple and could possibly add additional features if it looks like we will need them. We are trying to streamline the process so the claims arrive, get processed, approved, reported and new packs are sent out.

We expect recall claims to continue coming in for many months, you are not in any danger of missing a deadline for filing a claim

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but what is the expected turn around time?

It's going to vary immensely, we have a huge wave of claims that came in last week so working through those will take longer than in later months when they are trickling in.

    *Sigh*

Let's try this AGAIN, as when I sent an e-mail using the contact form all I got back was BS saying that the recall was only for Geoman customers, of which I am one. Since explanations via private e-mail don't seem to be comprehensible to those receiving them, let's try public pilloring instead.

I bought two sets of lights at a geoman light demo held in Santa Clarita Valley (Tapia Canyon) last year. Several weeks later I bought two of the "upgraded" batteries at another geoman light demo held in Orange County (STT/Luge). Upon hearing about the inital recall, I sent my information as requested and received a confirmation e-mail saying that I'd be contacted once more details were made available and that the organizer of the demos had already sent in a list of those who had purchased lights/batteries at the demos.

Of course this never happened and I only learned about the actual recall via posts here on STR. Fair enough, it's probably more efficient to post on major forums anyway. However, as per the instructions listed in the forum post, I sent my contact information again and was assured that I'd receive information as to how to receive the new non-exploding batteries, which I didn't.

I'm getting tired of typing so to sum this up:

    1) I am a customer. I can even provide pictures of my presence at the two formentioned demos if need be as well as get third party corroboration in regards to my purchases if that's what's needed.
    2) I am not asking for special treatment/free product/etc. I simply would like the information regarding the requirements for obtaining the new batteries being offered as per the terms of the recall.
    3) If you need my information again (third times the charm, I suppose) I'd be more than happy to provide it.

And once again, I would have rather done this via e-mail/PM, but as keeping it private was ineffective I'm reduced to public ranting. Anyway, I look forward to a prompt response.
