    Hey Kioti,

I rode the Luge this mornig, all the refinements and tweaks are paying off, berm was much better. It shot the Luge so fast/hard my hands were sore at the bottom. Thats a good thing.....

    Thanks Again.

    There's more to love! ;)

I got together with Brett and Jeff (a couple of local trailbuilders) and worked a lower section that'd gotten hammered during the December rains. It's a straightaway near the bottom that was all lumpy from mudslide and rock debris.

We smoothed it out and built some small jumps. Slower riders can roll them, but faster riders will be able to launch 'em if they want.

    Enjoy.. :)

I rode the luge tonight and there was a little mud but the traction was outstanding. Got a personal best of 55 mins.

Rode it yesterday on my hardtail. The new jumps we built make a formerly boring section fun. GoPro Footage below. Jumps at 3:05 of the video.

So that's what a sub four-minute ride looks like. :)

Nice camera work, Brett. Especially considering you shot it on a hardtail..? But would it've been too much to ask for you to slow down and get a better shot of the cute girl at 2:43.. ;)

So now I'll thank you for the video, along with building the jumps.

Au contraire, mon frère. The luge does exceptionally well when wet. Its STT that can take a beating right after the rains. Thanks to kioti and a few others that are constantly maintaining the trail.

When I said the luge I meant both the luge and STT....Im guessing the riders rode STT to the luge which in turn messes up STT

Some people have a problem with deferred gratification and don't have any other hobbies other than mtb...

I've been witness to a VERY near miss. Lets just say that it resembled the Wilie E Coyote scene and holding on to a bush while hanging over the edge.

But don't worry, his bike was just fine and no major scratches to the frame. I forgot if my buddy got hurt or not.

STT/luge dry out pretty quick....Ive gone 2-3 days after rain and havent seen a lot of mud. It all depends on how much it rains.

Just got back from a ride up to Old Camp and then down the Luge. STT is in great shape with only a few puddles to ride through. The slide areas that were repaired are still looking good. The Luge is perfect.......get out there and ride!!!

    Heading out now.. :)

But first I'll repeat what I've said numerous times in the past, "Its OK to ride the Luge when its wet!" It actually smoothes it out. And mud on the STT will STOP YOU before you'll do any permanent damage to it, so don't worry about it.

Thanks for the report, Scot. I was concerned that those heavy rains were going to cause some more slides. Really don't want to have to keep digging it out. And thanks for the props, dirtyjeff..
