Why does anyone care what kind of bike Lopes is riding?

I understand why they care about what bike he rides, but why do they think the next thing "will be sick"?

I am guessing it's the company with the biggest stack of cash.

i suspect something out of left field maybe a company not on anyone's radar.

Lopes perfected the mojo. He had alot of input into that bike and it was sick what the final product was. As for why lappiere, bike co just brought them in and lopes and joe like to work with each other. I dont think hed part ways with that, especially since lapiere is really looking to break into the us scene and joes beene working alot with those bikes

Not a bad choice. I've been eyeing that Lynx 4.8 29. Wouldn't mind a test ride, to feel the "future", with short stays (for a 29er) and supposedly more refined carbon construction.

I'm thinking more than likely it'll be an American company. I'm guessing Intense since they are restructuring and trying to go mainstream.

I didn't know that. Do you know where there are some articles about how he helped with the design? I'd be interested in reading about it.

Theres not to much articles going into full detail but a simple google search of mojo and lopes and theres a bunch of review and articles and forum post by ibis talking about his input. Being the only sponsored rider by ibis also makes him a valuable member of r and d because he's their main tester. I own a mojo hdr and you can really tell this bike had alot of input by a dual slalom rider in and out of corners and how much pop the bike has. Im sure if you email ibis theyll be happy to tell you more.

I would be shocked by Intense. I can't see them spending the kind of $ Lopes is likely to want.

I would guess they have more money than Ibis did when Lopes started with them. Plus, I'm guessing he's not as expensive as you might think considering he's mostly a retired racer that hand picks the events he competes in. It seems to me he's mostly a spokes person for the company. Kinda what Hans Rey is to GT.

I'm not saying Lopes is going to Intense but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm telling ya, Intense is tooling up and is trying to become a competitor in the global market.
