I rode another Limestone Canyon open access day on Saturday. Weather was spectacular and it was pretty crowded, but I started right at 8 AM, and after I passed the last bike on the way up Limestone Canyon, I went a solid 30 minutes before I saw another person.
I rode up Raptor and then back down again .... I finally got the KOM on the downhill segment that I have been trying about 10 years for, LOL. I had twice been within one second of tying it in the past, but this time beat it by 1 second. I surely benefited from the trail being in great condition and one might say hero dirt.
I rode Markel Spur in the opposite direction from last time, and while it is better that direction it is not a fun bike trail. No flow due to way too many switchbacks. Nice views though. I doubt I will ride it again.
Box Springs was grassy from the rain, so no chacne of going fast on that one. I finished with Limestone Ridge, but there were large groups of HIKERS on it so no fun on the first part at least.
Good ride, great weather.
