We are closed down for the season and getting ready for winter. We got our feet wet this summer and look forward to next year. Our meeting with the Forest Service was very positive and we are working on a business plan for next year. I will keep everyone posted on this site. I would like to stress how positive the FS was about mountain bikes. They don't look at us as the enemy and they want to find a way so that everyone can enjoy the mountains and the trails together.

I'm sure I speak for many when I say that we'll be ready for Mt. Waterman when it's ready for mountain bikers, and wish you the best of luck.

I'm also sure there are many on here who wouldn't object to you letting us know when you open for winter sports, as there are many mountain bikers who also ski or snowboard.

    See you in the winter!

We will be back next spring more organized and with the blessing of the FS. The Forest Service is not the enemy. They are doing a very important job with limited resources. In the next few weeks we will be working on a plan to propose to them.

Pray for snow and we'll see you on top.

Been out backpacking, hiking, riding but not web surfing....so I've missed all the fun

Rode Waterman 3 weeks ago. Trail was in mint condition. I hate to say it, but I bet it looked worse for wear after a several dozen shuttle/lift rider descents. Plus no doubt there was hiker static. So back to the drawing board for '10.

I hope the lift operators get FS okay and ARE open for '10. They need the income. Mt Waterman is a winter-time gem and us locals NEED it to stay in business. Just got to come up with a plan that satisfies everybody. Tough task/ good luck.

Good to see that this has moved in right direction for next year! I'll be up there in the snow this winter, they're saying it's shaping up to be an El Nino this winter? Which means a good amount of snow if I remember correctly?

Next season sounds like a long way off, but in my experience, planning and doing take a lot of work. Off season sounds like just the time to do it. Roberto, I am available for anything you need...coffee, sweep the parking lot, shuttle documents to the FS, organize the Pizza Planning Parties (P3), circulate electronic newsletters, maintain build calendars, take pictures, dig, cut, lift...you get the picture. I'm sure you will be busy with snow season, but if you are after additional summer revenues, then it would be good to keep the momentum going now. I ready. I'm sooo ready! Let's make sure Mt. Waterman is ready.

Considering they weren't able to open at all over this past winter for snow sports, their budget is probably pretty slim.
