Nice early morning ride at Laguna / Crystal Cove. Parked at Ridge Park and dropped right into Lizards. First part is nice and chunky. I got really good air on the jump/kicker that is somehow still there. No rattlesnakes in the middle of the sketchiest part of the downhill this time, so that was a plus.
Then over to Ol' Emerald ... fun as usual. I was happy to see the recent round of trail work didn't ruin anything. They supposedly added some pavers to the part after the switchback, but I didn't even notice them, so good job.
Down Emerald Canyon to the end ... and an eBiker came off a trail right before the bridge. Hmmm, never saw that before. On the way back, three eBikers came off the same trail. I decided I would need to go find that one. It turned out to be Burnt Stump. Interesting trail that goes from super mellow to "oh shit" in a hurry, similar to TnA but probably steeper. It was my first time riding it, so I took it easy and stopped a few times to scope out lines. It all looks rideable for me, but it is also more of a "try and survive" trail than a go really fast trail. I will ride it again, but it won't be part of my regular rotation.
After that, just climbed out and finished with Fenceline which is super flowy fun. The sun was starting to sun and I was getting warm so called it a day. Good ride, and happy I found some new dirt.
