Who: All Advanced XC Mountain Bikers

What: A truly EPIC loop ride, approx. 40 miles with massive climbing, starting at the Oak Mesa school in La Verne ( Marshall Canyon trailhead ) we'll be taking the streets up to Mount. Baldy (about 15 miles road climbing). From there we'll climb more to Cow Canyon Saddle Trailhead (approx 2 miles) that will take us to Sunset Peak (3 miles of fire road climbing) then some rolling fireroad to the antennas that over look the Inland Empire (3 miles) from there it's 10 miles of pure fireroad downhill (loads of fun since it's not the most well maintained road and you'll wonder when it will end). at the bottom, we'll ride to the bottom of the gated community (steep but fun road descent) to Wheeler Ave. at the point we'll head east to go down the lower third of Marshall Canyon, then back to the Oak Mesa Park/school.

When: Monday, September 5th, 2005 @ 7 AM, we'll be leaving promptly at 7:15 am

Where: We'll meet at the Oak Mesa Park/ School, 5400 Wheeler Ave. in the City of La Verne

*** please bring adequate gear, water and nutrition for this ride , it's not going to be easy.

*** we will be regrouping at certain points, this is a no drop ride, so please be in shape for this hard ride.

*** Any questions, please contact me

yes there is, Marshall Canyon, though it will not be a long distance compared to the whole thing, this is more of a distance/endurance type ride, not a thrill ride. i only added the marshall canyon part in order to finish the ride with a small thrill.

it won't be too bad, we should be done with the road climb by 9 - 9:30 am. Besides, what's a Labor Day ride without out some labor? :D

Great ride today!! 11 guys showed up, 4 of which shuttled it to Mt. Baldy. 33 miles was the end result, over 6000 feet of climbing. we were just too toasted to do the lower part of Marshall, so we skipped it. fun factor was very high, only one spill, and one flat, not bad for a long ride.

hope to see more of you out there next time around.
