    Hey all,

quick question - I am looking at buying a used and hopefully unabused stinky. The guy is advertising the frame as a 17".... my all mountain frame is a 20". I looked on kona's site about sizing, and a 17" stinky is XXL. Will this be the right size for a 6'3" 230lb rider?

dont worry about it, the KONA family has been gaining momentum and is on the rise my friend... ;)

chew, if you can get yourself over to the path or wheel world they might have one you can take for a test spin to check the sizing.

You should be alright with the 17" stinky.
I'm 5'10" and 195 lbs and I ride a 16.5" XL Stinky. It's a tad on the large side but it works just fine. In an ideal situation I would have liked to gotten 16" but I got such a good deal on the 16.5" that I couldn't say no.

All in all, you should be fine at 6'3" with the 17"

..But sizing is mostly a matter of personal preference.
Just as was previously mentioned, get over to the Path and sit on a few and maybe take a spin around the parking lot.

That's kind of weird sizing. I rode a 19" hard tail this weekend and it was to small for me. I'm 6'1" and 189lbs. I would guess a 17" would be tiny on you. I would test one first. Cheers.

I think it's well known that Stinkys have some weird ass sizing. Must be the super slack geometry.

The 17" XXL is largest stinky they make that I know of..

If you are looking a a Stinky you are looking I assume at more of a DH bike which you may want a little smaller than what you would ride XC or even all mountain. TTis the measurment that I would pay close attention to as the seat will probably be all the way down and out of the way while bombing the trails anyway...

i rode a 19" coiler at the path this weekend....

didnt have a stinky big enuff for me LOL

Dino - that is a killer deal on that frame and wheel.... but then brakes/cranks/forks/etc....

i think in the end the stinky might be a little better deal

Have you thought about buying J_Sims Yeti ASX?
    That is one nice rig!

He is 6'5" tall-- I can ALMOST guarantee the LARGE will be spot-on perfect!
Good luck with your purchase- whether it be frame only or complete!

My suggestion: PM J_Sims... The bike may cost less than you think! ;)

If your heart is set on a KONA- I will make you a deal.... You buy (a KONA) and I will wear MY KONA JERSEY when I give you the tour of Turnbull!
