Okay bubbs, all this talk about the new frames is getting me pumped to buy an XC rig, I've been looking at the Kona Kikapu and wouldn't mind picking one up, probably just a frame since the components they come with pretty much suck.

So, if anyone reading this has a good connection, please PM me.

Thanks.

Crazy talk

Now you're just talkin' crazy.

Any self respecting Santa Cruz boy such as yourself should be looking at a Superlight. I've seen new frames w/ RP3's for around $900

Don't buy into all this 4 bar hype ;)

Now who's the crazy one? :p

The path may help

Generally Kona frames arent that cheap. I would suspect that the xc frames that they sell go for around a $1000. Go to the bike co and see if they can get you a superlight frame for the same price.

price point has Banshee Chapparal frames on blow out...you can put an air shock on and go 4-5" or keep the coil on and go 5-6" i know not as light as other frames, but strong as bank vault and a 10 warranty

Did you not see that I'm asking about KONA frames?
:?:

you know what i am just throwing an idea out there. 1000.00 for a kona frame or 799.00 for a similar style?
we'll i also have the hook ups on Banshee bikes...but you weren't asking

good looking out guys, i appreciate it. flyingMonkey, i wasn't trying to jump on ya man, just saying that I'm looking to get a Kona frame, not a Banshee.

The Huckler will not be happy about you going outside the SC family... You may be out of the circle of trust for this one Dino. [-(

I agree with the gonzo-nator on that. A decent loadout for the price if the size is right and it's not trashed. Though I wonder what the suspension details are???

Don't think I noticed a size listed there but seems like a good deal if it's in good condition and the size is right for Bret.

The fork and rear shock are basically crap, that is the one bad part. Kona specs their bikes with some pretty low end stuff.....and the suspension is certainly low end. If you got a new fork and new rear shock that would be a pretty sweet bike for the money.

The guys will find out exactly what YOU want, and set you up. I know they may have a couple of 04' Kikapus (3.5" of travel complete bike) they may want to close out. I know the have a few 05's (4" travel complete bike) that are priced in your range. If you are already thinking about changing parts, and just want it for the frame, I'd say buy the complete bike, and E-Bay the stuff you don't want, and keep the stuff that may be usefull. That's the way I went with building Lacey's Kikapu.
I don't think you'll be disipointed if you go by and talk to one of the guys.

Thanks for the advice Crash, but after his ride on a buddies 5 Spot today I think we've converted him over to Turnerism  He's already making plans to sell his Heckler and buy a 5 Spot.
