ok, so i hit the fully loop on 6-14-06 all was well, i hit one of my jumps/drops and another biker made a comment, but not loud enough for me to hear, it didn't sound like a "yeah" or anything positive. that's fine.
i kept on riding threw some more style in here and there, took my lines off the plateau at the top of mormon hill, shot down the hill, then two guys on nomads started with thier comments something along the lines of " look what this guy is riding" i just said you guys have a good ride. i let it all roll off my back it's no big deal. i 'm curious where all the attitude comes from? in my opinion some of us mountain bikers not all are a stuck up breed. so much judging on what you're riding, how much travel you have, your shoes, shirt or whatever. ride a big wheel or whatever just ride. kill them all with kindness. just an observation
peace

what kinda bike are you riding?

i like to kill people with kindess too, seems like you did the right thing by just cruising and not letting them see that it kinda pissed you off.

Good job keeping it positive. There are ass clowns in every sport but for the most part, I think MTB'rs are a pretty good group.

If those guys have time to judge and make comments about a rider they don't even know, then they need to get lives. I mean seriously, do they think they’re surfers being all territorial and stuff. I used to see that stuff at running events all the time. Some of the rich snobs with all of their matching running gear, heart rate monitor, sun glasses, MP3 player and every other gadget would look at guys like me wearing “baggy” style running shorts and an old t-shirt and be totally rude. Then the race would start and I would respond to their attitude by smoking that a$$. I can’t stand people who make everything a status thing. What’s wrong with being cool with everyone, regardless where they ride or what they ride. Anyway I’m done ranting. I think you handled that situation great, they were probably wondering how to make themselves feel better about themselves when you didn’t respond.

You said it well C.

Occasionally I run across "those a$$holes" but usually encounters are exceedingly positive.

It's one thing to take pride in your bike and style of riding...but leave the "I'm better than you" celebrity complex and fashion show mentality at home...I'm just glad that most riders aren't like that.

In my experience most all Mountain Bikers have been the coolest people to hang with. Something in their down-to-earth nature that draws peeps to this sport. Don't let those few a**holes spoil the fun !!! Just gotta ignore the ignoramus  . Hope to ride with ya soon...Big wheels could be fun :bang:

Just keep taking the high road like you did and let that crap roll off your shoulders. FWIW....I've run into some rude SOB's at Loop as well but it's all good. I just ride the best I can and enjoy the time out there and relax, after all, who needs more stress in their life and letting B.S like that get to you is no good. You are going to run into elitist pricks and snobs at every trail.

you guys are great...i didn't even mention the people in cars that run stop signs then yell at me, blew that off too. yes most of the riders out there are very cool.
my ride was a chapparal the 6" model, but i've had the same comments when i'm on my '87 diamond back rigid. i rise above , high five and roll
i'll be hitting the loop again today (great after work ride)
ya'll have a great day!!!

i'll keep you laughing...for training before i go to utah i've been pumping my scream and chapparal around the loop all 8" and 7" , but i assure you that i take some bonus lines to use that travel. to me it says something to ride those things and climb every hill except the last bitch, chain guide and all the rigid is a nice discipline bike, keeps you smooth

Turner owners are the biggest bitches I know...REAL MEN ride PACIFICS!!!

What kills me, is that guys riding the all mighty epic trail known as the Fullerton Loop are passing judgement on somebody else's bike. Am I the only one finding that ironic?

You should have said, "Sorry about your penis."

I have never ridden the loop, I thought it was an "easy" trail. Can someone fill me in.

It is a very easy trail......they don't get much easier than the Fully Loop. If you want to check it out come join us......I believe we've rescheduled our group ride there till the 27th instead of this Sunday because of Father's Day. You need someone to show you the way around, it is almost impossible to find your way around without a guide.
